Farming Together: collaboration forum (June, Adelaide)
9-May-2017
A gathering of farmers and farm service specialists sharing knowledge and experiences in successful collaboration.
Michael Wohlstadt (The Dairyman) will be speaking about broadening his Jersey herd operations to on-farm sales of cream and butter. He also rears heritage pork, runs a B&B and is a director of Barossa Trust Mark, Australia’s first certified regional accreditation scheme. He will be talking about his farming enterprise and offer insights into provenance/branding as a marketing tool.
Other speakers include:
-Allan Crabbe, CEO of Australia’s largest crowd-funding platform, Pozible, who will talk about crowd-funding for agricultural ventures.
-Prof Derek Baker, Head of Agribusiness at UNE, talking about how to work with your supply chain.
-Richard Heath, General Manager Australian Farm Institute, on how US farmers are making money out of on-farm data
A highlight of the event will be the launch of an online co-op builder, for groups of farmers interested in discovering what’s involved with setting up a co-op (inc. support in using the tool).
The event is free (thanks to the government support) but seats are limited
